Estufa no Futuro | Greenhouse in the Future

Um grupo de alunos que participa no projeto desenvolveu um projeto chamado "Estufa no Futuro". 

A estufa é controlada por um Arduíno que faz a gestão de vários sensores. 

Existe uma janela que abre (através de um servo motor) quando a temperatura (medida através de um DHT11) ultrapassa um determinado valor. 

A terra é regada (a torneira é controlada através de um servo motor) quando o sensor de humidade no solo regista valores superiores a um valor definido.

A lâmpada simula a luz solar. A variação da intensidade da luz é conseguida através da função cosseno, criando um gráfico co-sinusoidal, no Excel.

A group of students participating in the project developed a project called "Greenhouse in the Future".

The greenhouse is controlled by an Arduino that manages several sensors.

There is a window that opens (via a servo motor) when the temperature (measured through a DHT11) exceeds a certain value.

The soil is watered (the tap is controlled through a servo motor) when the soil moisture sensor registers values higher than a set value.

The lamp simulates sunlight. The light intensity variation is achieved through the cosine function, creating a co-sinusoidal graph in Excel.

Quinto dia | Fifth day

5 de abril: Último dia das atividades de aprendizagem em Itália. Hoje o dia foi todo preenchido com visitas culturais em Roma. Devido ao facto de já estarmos na capital italiana, fomos ao encontro do grupo junto ao coliseu. É realmente um monumento grandioso no centro de Roma que não deixa ninguém indiferente! De seguida seguimos para o Panteão, passando por vários Fóruns romanos, pela Coluna Traiana e pelo monumento a Vittorio Emanuele II. Dirigimo-nos depois para a Praça de Espanha, onde almoçámos. À tarde, fomos lançar uma moeda na famosa fonte di Trevi e espreitámos a Bocca della Verità. De seguida, despedimo-nos dos nossos parceiros do projeto: uns seguiram para Avezzano, outros para o aeroporto porque ainda regressavam hoje ao seu país, e nós de volta para o nosso hotel.

April 5: Last day of learning activities in Italy. Today the whole day was filled with cultural visits in Rome. Due to the fact that we were already in the Italian capital, we went to meet the group next to the coliseum. It really is a grand monument in the center of Rome that does not leave anyone indifferent! We then proceed to the Pantheon, passing through several Roman Forums, the Traiana Column and the Vittorio Emanuele II monument. We then went to Plaza de España, where we had lunch. In the afternoon we went to throw a coin in the famous fountain of Trevi and we looked out for Bocca della Verità. Then we said goodbye to our project partners: some went to Avezzano, some to the airport because they were still returning home today, and we were back at our hotel.

Quatro dia | Fourth day

4 de abril: O dia amanheceu frio e chuvoso. A manhã foi passada na escola IIS com atividades para os alunos. Estes foram divididos em grupos e em conjunto construíram e programaram um pequeno robô. Enquanto os alunos trabalhavam nos seus robôs, os professores visitaram os laboratórios de tecnologia, onde tomámos conhecimento de alguns dos projetos desenvolvidos pela escola. Também nos foi feita uma demonstração de jogos digitais educativos criados por um aluno.Depois do almoço, os alunos dos vários países parceiros fizeram um vídeo dizendo frases sobre a importância da leitura nas suas línguas maternas. Às 16 horas, nós, portugueses, apanhámos o comboio com rumo a Roma para passarmos os dois últimos dias na capital italiana. Chegámos a Roma às 18:30 e fomos recebidos com chuva torrencial e trovoada. (Os deuses devem estar loucos!) Amanhã continuaremos a nossa aventura no Rome Cup 2019 e à tarde visitaremos alguns dos locais mais emblemáticos de Roma.

April 4: The day dawned cold and rainy. The morning was spent at the IIS school with activities for students. These were divided into groups and together they built and programmed a small robot.

While the students worked on their robots, the teachers visited the technology labs, where we learned about some of the projects developed by the school. We also had a demonstration of digital educational games created by a student. After lunch, students from various partner countries made a video saying phrases about the importance of reading in their mother tongues. At 4:00 p.m., we, the Portuguese, took the train to Rome to spend the last two days in the Italian capital. We arrived in Rome at 18:30 and were met with torrential rain and thunderstorm. (The gods must be crazy!) Tomorrow we will continue our adventure in the Rome Cup 2019 and in the afternoon we will visit some of the most emblematic places in Rome.

Terceiro dia | Third day

3 de abril: O dia amanheceu com sol e temperatura amena. A manhã foi passada na escola, onde os alunos foram divididos em grupos, cada um com elementos das várias nacionalidades.   Usando Lego EV3, construíram e programaram um braço robótico e um robô segue-a-linha. De seguida, os alunos almoçaram juntos no centro da cidade. Após o almoço, o céu ficou sombrio e presenteou-nos com chuva e frio. Todavia, isso não impediu a nossa visita às ruínas romanas de Alba Fucens e a uma igreja romana dedicada ao deus Apolo. Esta foi construída no ano de 302 AC e destruída pelo grande terramoto de 1950. Foi totalmente reconstruída com as pedras e colunas originais. As ruínas também datam do mesmo ano e os habitantes da época dedicavam a sua devoção ao semi-deus Hércules para que este abençoasse as suas colheitas e gado. De volta a Avezzano, os alunos regressaram aos seus respectivos lares e terminaram o dia com um jantar convívio numa pizzaria local.

April 3: The day dawned with sunshine and mild temperature. The morning was spent in school, where the students were divided into groups, each with elements of various nationalities. Using Lego EV3, they built and programmed a robotic arm and a follow-on robot. Then the students had lunch together in the center of the city. After lunch, the sky became gloomy and presented us with rain and cold. However, this did not stop us from visiting the Roman ruins of Alba Fucens and a Roman church dedicated to the god Apollo. This was built in the year 302 BC and destroyed by the great earthquake of 1950. It was completely rebuilt with the original stones and columns. The ruins also date from the same year and the inhabitants of the time dedicated their devotion to the half-god Hercules so that this one blessed his harvests and cattle. Back in Avezzano, the students returned to their respective homes and finished the day with a dinner party at a local pizzeria.
